Sri Shekar Santhanam is a Tamil Smarta Vaidhika priest with over nineteen years of experience in performing Apasthambam, Bodhayana Karmas and Veda Parayanam. He has 19 years of experience in performing Apasthambam, Bodhayana Karmas and Veda Parayanam. He is a certified Kramapati in Krishna Yajur Vedam. He was born in a traditional vaidhika family and completed 8 years of Krishna Yajur VedaKramantham from Sri Sankara Gurukula Veda Patasala (Veda Bhavan – Secundrabad), Telengana, India. He is well trained in vaidhika samskaras like marriage, Upanayanam (Hindu rite of passage ritual), Gruhapravesam (religious ritual when a person moves into a new house), Sathabishegam (the set of poojas and rituals performed when a person completes 80 years) and Apara Kriyas (last rites including funeral service). He is well versed in Veda parayanam. He also has a strong knowledge of Agamas, Upanishads, Shastras, and other Hindu religious texts. He served as a temple priest in the esteemed Sri Sarva Priya Mahaganapathi Seva Samithi, Chennai for 6 years. He worked a s a priest in the Asthika Seva Samithi for nine years and before coming to SSVT was working in Sri Valampuri Vinayagar Aalayam for the last 4 years. Sri Shekar Santhanam joined SSVT as smarta Vaidhika in May 2025. He speaks Tamil, Telugu and English.
