Position 001: Devotee Scheduling Supervisor

Job Description
The Devotee Scheduling supervisor is responsible for scheduling various religious events at the temple, and scheduling temple priest for various devotee requested outside/inside religious activites. Devotee Scheduling Supervisor will perform this in consultation with Temple priests, Religious Coordination Committee, and Vice Chair of Operations. In addition Devotee Scheduling Supervisor will handle devotee interactions at the temple, handle devotee satisfaction, and ensure all devotee needs are met in consultation with Vice Chair of Operations. The responsibilities are further enumerated below.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with RC Committee, and Temple Priests in planning various Religious Events
  • Receive Devotee phone calls, e-mail request in scheduling priests for outside/inside temple religious activities
  • Assist in managing front desk activities
  • Other duties as may be requested by the SSVT General Manager
Qualificaitons
  • Ability to read, comprehend and determine Thithi, Nakshatra, based on North American Hindu Panchanga (Almanac)
  • Ability to interact with Priests, and RC Committee in determining various Hindu Religious Events
  • Ability to communicate, understand devotee requirements about Religious Events and recommend and Schedule priests
  • Must have comprehensive understanding of Hindu Religious Events, and be able to communicate effectively
  • Must have flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and must be available on weekends
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with volunteers, devotees, and the congregation
  • Must have good record keeping ability. Documentation must be maintained on all activities
  • Must have knowledge of using Computer for scheduling, e-mail communication, and good phone interaction skills

Experience
At least three years of successful supervisory experience, preferably in a similar capacity.

Position 002: Bookkeeper/Accountant

Job Description
The Bookkeeper/Accountant is responsible for A/R, A/P, Payroll,assisting with audit and year end closing. This position will report to Treasurer and BOT Executive Committee.

Qualificaitons
  • Must have Bachelors degree in Accounting with 3 -5 years experience in Bookkeeping, Accounting tasks
  • Must have flexibility to changing schedule and be available on weekends
  • Proficiency in Excel and Sage 50 accounting software or other comparable system
  • Experience working for non-profit organization is preferred
  • 25-30 hrs per week Temp to permanent, is a possibility
  • Compensation based on qualifications and experience
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with the workforce, management, and the congregation
  • Must have good record keeping ability. Documentation must be maintained on all activities
